---About Us and Our History---
NerfX was started way back in early November of 2005 by a person who went by the name zAnG. It was originally hosted at a place called ForumFire, but it was soon moved to Aimoo as to avoid ads.

I joined NerfX in mid-November, just before Manwithmanyguns - one of the key figures in NerfX history. I was made a Global Moderator, higher than Guns, even though he joined before me. Another character named the56ace joined and became a moderator, just as well did Renegade.

For a time, all things seemed well. I was the resident post-whore/grammar-Nazi, the56ace couldn't hardly post well enough to follow the rules he enforced, and most of the discussion was held between the three highest ranks.

Eventually, Aimoo started flooding the forum with popup ads, forcing zAnG's hand to moving the forum to DracoForums. The site went fine for a while, but it still didn't have the old feel to it.

Sadly, nothing gold stayed then. zAnG eventually lost interest in Nerf and went for Graal instead. This pretty much enraged Guns and I, so after a long argument with zAnG, he concluded that I take care of NX from then on.

I went to a phpBB host for the forum and used a template that closely resembled the one NX used on Aimoo. I also used a similar template on Tripod for the main site.

During this time, It was me, Guns, Runedude (my friend), and around this time, Pineapple started lurking on the site. I guess you'd say that we were confused and still slightly shaken by zAnG dumping his role as admin, but we carried on.

Flannel and a reformed Puggy55 were among the first people to join and become moderators. Flannel was quickly promoted to Global Mod during his tenure. Things basically went on as they did on Aimoo, felt nice and classic. Eventually I got a GoDaddy account and started toying around with it and I created a proto-homepage, which admittedly sucked.

I eventually created a forum on the GoDaddy account so that we didn't need to tolerate ads. The change was fast and well-tolerated. Around this time, Flannel was made an admin and Puggy was given global mod. Pineapple was the second person to join.

Eventually, csmaclaren made his appearance as well, and he was kind enough to create a template for the homepage of the site that matched the forums. For a time, I used it, and during the time that I did, there was a period of quiet. I eventually switched to my own coding after I figured out how to display stuff like recent posts and after I learned HTML. It stayed like this for a bit, however I decided to darken the site up.

Enter the current look. Although the other pages went through countless phases, the forums stayed virtually the same. The site enjoyed much activity and once again prospered at this time.

Around December/January this year, we gained control of TINH's content and over a period of time, it was published to the site, giving us the current content lineup.

Sadly, Flannel left the team to search out a life, zAnG has come and gone, and Guns has dropped off the earth after a brief return. Davidbowie is nowhere to be found, and Ryan is becoming less and less active.

Many of the other people have left as well. A salute to:

Flannel
CrackShot
Puggy55
DavidBowie
Manwithmanyguns
Sinfil
DS
n-struck
3nerfiteers

And most of all...

zAnG for starting it all.

NerfX has been shot down several times, has had its hard times, has lost many of the members who are immortalized in the minds of the members who were here through it all.

NerfX has always been a great ride and a learning experience, an opportunity to make friends. It is a part of me now, and I'm sure that more than one person here bears it a part of them as well.

It's been a great ride and it isn't near over yet!
